“Took two different walking tours with this company (Jazz & Garden District) and had a terrific experience. We also wanted to do a City/Katrina tour, but it was sold out on the day we wanted to go. No big deal, maybe next time.
Our great experience was a direct result of the knowledge, passion and friendliness of our tour guide, Dave Roberts. He has the kind of personality that draws you in and makes you feel as if you are talking with an old friend. This guy knows his New Orleans history without a doubt, but he really shined on the jazz history tour. He talked about all of the popular jazz artists like Armstrong and Morton, and he also discussed other musicians who I had never even heard of before. The tour was supposed to run from 2PM to 4PM, but it ran well beyond that, not ending until after 5. Dave loves his city and he probably could have went on forever. He even took us a few blocks into Treme and talked a little bit about St. Augustine’s Church and the Backstreet Cultural Museum. It was a great tour and one of the highlights of our trip.”
