Garden District Tour was Excellent
“With seemingly dozens of tour companies to choose from, we had the good fortune of finding ourselves strolling through the Garden District with a guide from Historic New Orleans Tours.
Meeting up for the tour was simple. You can take the St. Charles St. Street Car from the Quarter. Get off at Washington St. And walk down a block to The Rink (a cool old roller rink turned shopping center with a great book shop and even better coffee spot). It seemed like a few companies use this as the meet-up point so be sure you’re with Historic New Orleans.
We started our tour with Lloyd. He took us through Lafayette Cemetary. He was very knowledgeable and equally quirky (in a good way). Lloyd was under the weather, so he was relieved by Frank who took us the rest of the way.
Frank was great. He knew history, architecture, and the odd bit of relevant pop culture. The two-hours went quickly. It was a great introduction to an incredible neighborhood, one that we found ourselves future exploring later in our trip.
The tour is highly recommended!”
