Garden District Tour (plus Cemetery)
“Anna” (I believe this was her middle name) was a great guide with a hint of a Cajun accent from her local upbringing. We took the St. Charles streetcar to the starting point of the tour. I didn’t realize it also included a substantial stop at one of the nearby cemeteries so that was a bonus – we’d already seen St. Louis Cemetery #1 on our own and this gave us some great background we would not have gotten otherwise. Then on to looking at numerous mansions. I really enjoyed learning some of the history and having the opportunity to take some great pictures. Do know that you won’t be going inside any of them – outside views only! It was a very full two hours of walking so be prepared! It’s also a great jumping off point to go to Magazine Street for lunching/shopping. And the tour is very close to Commander’s Palace if you want to lunch there. Great tour!”
