Review of: New Orleans Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery Tour
“My girlfriends and I spent 2 hours walking around Lafayette Cemetery and the streets of the Garden District with THE BEST guide. Anita was engaging and funny and so sweet. We overheard other guides throughout the city and they weren’t as good. $25 well spent. Discount for students, seniors and military.
We started at the bookstore and headed to the cemetery. I was a little hesitant to take pictures at first but everyone was doing it. Anita gave us a lot of information and answered all of our questions. Some people may think it creepy but not me.
We started walking the streets to look at the houses. We stopped at houses for some famous people and saw different styles and sizes. Beautiful houses.
The streets need some work. Wear comfortable shoes. The roots of some trees have ripped up the sidewalks. The sidewalk is cracked in other places and potholes on the streets. But the trees are so nice and it’s such a lovely area.
We walked over to the American Horror Story house on our own. Very close to where we started/finished the tour.
If you’re staying in the French Quarter you can take the St. Charles trolley into the Garden District and then walk about 3 blocks to the tour start. Such a nice experience!”
