Excellent way to learn more about New Orleans!

“My parents and I took two walking tours with Historic New Orleans: the Garden District tour, and the French Quarter tour. 

We were very impressed with both tours. 

On the Garden District tour, we walked past many beautiful homes, including several that have been owned by celebrities such as Sandra Bullock and Peyton Manning. We also went into a cemetary; New Orleans’ cemetaries are normally unsafe for tourists to visit on their own. 

The French Quarter tour took us past attractions like Jackson Square that most tourists visit, but also past historic buildings a block or two from the main tourist areas, that are rarely seen by anyone but locals. 

Both tour guides provided a lot of information about the history of New Orleans, but interspersed the history with enough anecdotes to keep the tours fun – neither tour felt like a classroom lecture. The guides moved fast enough to cover a lot of ground in three hours, but we did not feel like we were being rushed. 

I would highly recommend Historic New Orleans to anyone who wants to see more of New Orleans than Bourbon Street and the casino.”
