A local’s point of view – A GREAT tour!
“We recently went on the voodoo cemetery tour. Our tour guide was Milton, he was excellent! Milton grew up in New Orleans and was very knowledgeable. He gave us many extra tidbits of information which outsiders and short term nola residents would not have known. He took us to the St. Jude Shrine on the side of the “Our Lady of Guadalupe” chapel. Next we went to St. Louis cemetery no 1 and saw the voodoo queen, Marie Laveau’s grave. Milton knew so much about it all and I loved how he could give a local’s point of view, describing how he grew up in various societies of Nola. We also visited congo square. We didn’t go into the voodoo temple, but he pointed it out , so if we wanted to at the end we could go on our own. I did check it out, and to be honest I can see why we didn’t go in as a group, it was small and not as expected. I would definitely suggest the cemetery tour and any of Milton’s tours. He is a true local and a very nice person!”
