“We visited New Orleans recently…our first trip. Of course we did the Cafe du Monde and Bourbon Street things….we even had Hurricanes at Pat O’Brien’s.
We wanted to dig a little deeper; so we took 2 tours offered by Historic New Orleans Tours. Each in its own way was professional, informative and enjoyable.
Our guide for the French Quarter Tour was Claudia. She was charming, entertaining and well informed. We hit all the key attractions in the Vieux Carre, which she put in perspective by giving us some historical background.
The next day we toured the Garden District with Jane. She had a wealth of knowledge, not just about this section of New Orleans, but about the city in general. The time flew, and we left feeling like we had a good sense of the culture and history of NOLA.
BTW, if you are a senior, Historic New Orleans Tours offers a nice discount. Make sure you take advantage of that.
