Excellent and Informative
“I recently took the Garden District Walking tour and loved it! Our tour guide Dave was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. He even recruited more people to join the tour as we were walking to our first destination (Lafayette Cemetery 1). Dave spoke of the history of the cemetery from the initial planning to the more recent movies that were filmed there. He showed us where various celebrities used to live, shared interesting anecdotes about various Garden District residents, and even ran into a few people he knew which immediately enhanced the tour. He also discussed the various types of architecture and the history of the Garden District and how it fit into the larger history of New Orleans. When we were in front of one particular house, we ran into the owner. She had recently bought the house and was renovating it and was nice enough to take the time to chat with us about it. I am consistently amazed at the kindness and friendliness of people in New Orleans. It is truly a beautiful city. Overall, it was a great tour and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I’m looking forward to the French Quarter Tour in a few days!”
