“We enjoyed our Cemetary tour. Gwen, our animated and very knowledgeable guide led us through the French Quarter, teaching us about the Creole history, culture, architecture, values, etc. It was wonderful to learn of the Creole culture from Gwen who is Creole. Next, we went to Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church where Gwen taught us about the the interplay between voodoo, hoodoo and Catholicism. We then went into the Cemetary. Gwen was a plethora of information and answered all our questions. She taught us about burial practices and about the history of so many of the people buried there. We strolled the Louis Armstrong Park and learned of its history. we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.”
